Naughty (K)nots Workshop

WORKSHOPS

IMG_8181.JPG

This workshop hosts a collective reading and re-reading of knots across social, material and ecological practices. It entails exploring the linguistic, functional, political and performative implications of knots towards holding and enabling movement, i.e. What do knots do? How do they relate to ideas of control and security? Why should a knot not be unravelled? While most humanistic endeavours of knotting only emphasise making the knot taut, these sessions focus on the relationship and governance of knots with the notion of ‘nots’, and further explore the potential and emergent possibilities of gaps in learning and unlearning them.
