ABOUT

An intra-disciplinary artist and educator, my research explores the phenomena of rhythm and movement across social, material and ecological practices.

Born and raised in India, my movement practice has been informed by several dance genres including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. With over 15 years of training and performance experience, this practice is now housed within the fluidity of Indian Contemporary dance. I find this to be less of a genre and more of an intention, with mine exploring and challenging conventions within utilitarian acts and mundane phenomena.

I bring over six years of professional experience in the education and arts sectors in both India and the UK, where I have contributed to curriculum development, research initiatives, and programme design. My greatest passion lies in arts-based pedagogies and their potential to enrich relational approaches to learning and living, specifically in the context of societal, political and ecological inequalities.

I graduated with an MPhil in Education (Arts, Creativity and Education) from the University of Cambridge in 2022-23, securing a Distinction with Note on my study on (k)nots, which I am now expanding into a larger community arts initiative through the 'Naughty (K)nots' workshops. I have also been a Young India Fellow at Ashoka University in 2017-18, where I pursued a PG Diploma in Liberal Arts.

I live and work between New Delhi, India and Cambridge, United Kingdom.
