I lost my train of thought
The parameters to quantify excellence in education in the 21st century, vary greatly from the ones regarded highly in the preceding eras. In the last two decades alone, technology has trickled its way into every single facet of our lives and completely altered the way we think, learn and act. Naturally, to accommodate this radical shift, educational endeavours are no longer focussed on championing one's memory because we have a plethora of gadgets that would perform that function for us and that too with far more efficiency.
The focus now is on critical thinking. It's arguably the most featured lingo on every school/university's brochure.
We no longer want to champion memory, there is a growing sense of amnesia and apathy. We don't need/want to remember unless our phones send us a throwback reminder.
